This cinnamon streusel banana bread is the perfect gluten-free banana bread with a fun cinnamon twist! It is so rich, decadent, & easy to whip up. It is can be made dairy, gluten & refined sugar-free as well!

DAIRY-FREE & GLUTEN-FREE Cinnamon Streusel Banana Bread
This banana bread can be made 100% dairy-free by using coconut or avocado oil.
I used my favourite gluten-free baking flour in this recipe to keep it gluten-free. This flour is so authentic & I often sub it 1:1 in regular recipes with great success! Definitely one I like to always have on hand for gluten-free baking!

INGREDIENTS YOU WILL NEED:
- About 3 ripe bananas (enough for 1 + 1/3 cup, mashed)
- Vanilla extract
- Pink salt
- Baking soda
- Cinnamon
- Collagen peptides*
- Unsweetened applesauce
- Maple syrup
- Flax-meal
- Gluten-free baking flour (this is my favourite)
- Butter (or softened coconut oil or avocado oil)
- Eggs
- Coconut sugar
- Milk of choice (I used unsweetened cashew milk)

MAKE THIS Cinnamon Streusel Banana Bread INTO A LOAF OR MUFFINS:
Simply swap out a loaf pan in the recipe for a muffin pan to make these into yummy cinnamon streusel banana bread muffins! Make sure to grease the muffin pan generously, or my preference, use liners for easy removal after baking. Note that if you make muffins the baking time will be significantly less, so just keep an eye on them & check them regularly.
PERFECT TO FREEZE FOR LATER
This banana bread can easily be frozen & enjoyed as desired. I like to pre-slice it & store it in individual baggies in the freezer so I can take each one out as needed. I like to re-heat it up in the oven or the microwave until the bread is nice & warm throughout & then top with some creamy & melty ghee or butter (coconut oil or almond butter is a great dairy-free topping). Such a drool-worthy combination!

Description
This cinnamon streusel banana bread is the perfect gluten-free banana bread with a fun cinnamon twist! It is so rich, decadent, & easy to whip up. It is can be made dairy, gluten & refined sugar-free as well!
Ingredients
Banana Bread
- 1 + 1/3 cup of ripe banana, mashed (about 3 bananas)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp pink salt
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 3/4 cup collagen peptides*
- 1/2 cup applesauce
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
- 1/4 cup flax-meal
- 1 + 3/4 cup gluten-free baking flour (this is my favourite)
- 1/4 cup butter (or softened coconut oil or avocado oil for a dairy-free option)
- 2 eggs
Cinnamon Swirl Filling
- 1/4 cup coconut sugar
- 2 tbsp coconut oil (or butter or avocado oil)
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- 2 tbsp milk of choice (I used unsweetened cashew milk)
Streusel Topping
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 2 tbsp coconut sugar
- 1 tbsp coconut oil (or butter or avocado oil)
- 3 tbsp gluten-free flour (I used the same one from the banana bread)
Topping
- melted coconut butter (aka coconut manna)
Instructions
- Pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees F.
- Line a loaf pan with parchment paper. I like to grease the ends with ghee & then line the parchment paper along the middle to easily pick up.
- In a large mixing bowl add your ingredients for the banana bread & mix together well.
- In a bowl, melt the coconut oil for the cinnamon swirl filling.
- Once melted, add the rest of the ingredients for the filling & swirl it into the banana bread batter.
- Pour into you prepared pan.
- Melt the coconut oil for the streusel topping & then add the rest of the ingredients.
- Sprinkle the topping over the banana bread evenly.
- Bake for 50-65 minutes or until a fork or knife comes out relatively clean. The top should be browned & crispy/firm to the touch. Note that if you’re making muffins the baking time will be less, so check regularly. Baking times can also vary depending on the type of pan & your oven so just keep an eye on your bread while it bakes.
- Remove from the oven & let cool completely before cutting or removing your loaf.
- Drizzle with melted coconut butter if desired, slice & enjoy!
Notes
*This recipe should work when the collagen is omitted. I haven’t tried it without in this recipe, specifically but all other recipes where I use it, they have turned out when omitted as well. You could try subbing your favourite protein powder in this recipe instead but every protein powder can vary significantly when baked. You may need to add a bit less flour to achieve the right consistency & texture when baked.

Can this recipe be made eggless?
I haven’t tried it without eggs myself. You could definitely try it with a chia or flax egg (1 tbsp flax or chia + 3 tbsp water). I don’t know how it will affect the final product but if you try it let me know how it works out!
Thank you, will try it out 🙂
No problem! I hope it works out! 🙂
Can I make it without applesauce?
I haven’t tried it without but I would recommend subbing an extra 1/2 cup mashed banana or even 1/2 cup pumpkin puree if you can! Keep me posted how it turns out! 🙂
This recipe is AMAZING & I 100% be making again. I omitted flax & collagen peptides & the coconut butter drizzle. I substituted 1/2 cup applesauce for an extra 1/2 cup mashed banana. I cooked it for 65 mins & it was perfection!

Allyson, this makes me SO happy! Thank you so much for sharing the subs you made as well! I am so glad it was such a success! 🙂
Made this today and it is delicious!
I didn’t have any apple sauce so I added the extra banana and didn’t use collagen peptides. I used real sugar because that’s all I had, and baked for 65 min, turned out great!
