This protein berry ice cream (aka smoothie bowl) is thick, creamy, & tastes so good! It is super versatile too & packs a punch with protein & fibre!

Easy Protein Berry Ice Cream
This recipe is actually super easy to whip up as long as you have a blender & some frozen fruit! I am using berries but I encourage you to get creative, try throwing in some frozen avocado, pineapple, mango, the possibilities go on!
My favourite protein powder for Protein Berry Ice Cream
Now, you can use your favourite protein powder, I recommend chocolate or vanilla (I have been loving chocolate with the berry combo), but my favourite the last few months is from Ancient Nutrition. I love their Bone Broth Collagen protein powder (specifically the chocolate for this recipe, which you can find here). I am an affiliate with them & have worked with them in the past because I LOVE their products & use them myself every single day. I do have a code you can use on their Canadian website for 20% off your first order & it is “laus_healthy_life”. I don’t make a commission or get any sort of kickback from this code, it simply for me to share with my readers!

Ingredients you will need:
- Blueberries, frozen
- Strawberries, frozen
- Chocolate or vanilla protein powder (this is my favourite protein powder & the one I used in this recipe)
- Ice
- Liquid (I used unsweetened cashew milk & water)
- Cordyceps mushroom powder (optional), I used this one
- Ground flax or chia seeds (optional)
- Spinach (optional), NOTE: this will change the colour. It will still taste great but may not be the prettiest colour.
Toppings
- I love this cereal & this cereal to add on top
- More berries
- Shredded coconut
- Nuts & seeds of choice
- A tbsp of nut or seed butter
- Yogurt
Get creative with your add-in’s
As you can see above I love to add cordyceps into my protein berry ice-cream (aka smoothie). I can’t taste it & love the benefits. You don’t have to add this at all but feel free to add any of your favourite powder or superfoods into the mix. You also don’t have to add any extra add-in’s & it will still be great!
How to get it super thick
The trick is to slowly add your liquid of choice. Start by adding 1/2 cup. If it doesn’t blend evenly add another 1/4 cup. Continue adding liquid & trying to blend. The amount listed in the recipe below is the exact amount I needed in my blender (I use a Vitamix) to get the mixture blending, while also keeping it super thick & creamy. You will want to keep it blending for around a minute. Depending on your blender you may need to stop & scrape the sides occasionally.
