If you are looking for a vegan gluten-free pizza crust I got you! This one is the perfect combination of crispy on the outside, yet soft & tender on the inside! You can make it yours by adding your favourite sauce & toppings!

Vegan Gluten-Free Pizza Crust
The struggle to find a decent gluten-free AND vegan pizza crust can be tough. I have been there. While I have a few store-bought ones I will opt for in a pinch there’s something special about making your own homemade pizza, dough & all.
Make this Vegan Gluten-Free Pizza Crust your own
You can get so creative with the toppings you add to your pizza. I look at pizza as a great opportunity to also sneak in some extra veggies when I can. We added lots of peppers, red onion, & fresh basil to ours. You can add roasted veggies, mushrooms, broccoli, arugula, or whatever you have on hand to yours & come up with your own unique twist!

3 Ingredient Pizza sauce:
We made our own pizza sauce for this pizza & it was delicious. I am a huge fan of anything with lots of garlic so this was right up my alley. All that you need for it is: garlic, oil or butter & fresh basil. You can use this sauce or top it off with your own. This crust is a great base for all your favourite pizza combinations!
Ingredients (only 5) you will need for this vegan gluten-free pizza crust:
- Active yeast
- Warm water
- Gluten-free flour (this is my favourite)
- Butter, melted (or avocado oil or extra-virgin olive oil for dairy-free/vegan)
- Pink salt
Easy to throw together
This crust recipe is actually super easy. We used a stand mixer to get the dough to form but you can also do it with a strong spoon & hand hand power. If you are using your own strength you may need to get in there with you hands to get the dough to form. You can add a touch of oil to your fingertips if they are sticking during this process or when you roll it out on your pan.

A gluten-free vegan pizza crust that actually holds up
One thing I respect in a gluten-free pizza crust, in particular, is if it can stand the test of gravity. I want to be able to grab my pizza by the slice & be sure it won’t fall apart in my hands, like a lot of gluten-free crusts tend to do from time to time. This crust will not do that to you my friends. It is sturdy & has some strength to it so that you can easily pick it up & eat it with your hands, resting assured its not going to fall apart!
Make it now, have it later
A great trick I love to do with pizza dough is make a big batch & save some of it for a rainy day by freezing it. If you want to do that I recommend to double this recipe & cook half now & then freeze the other half in a baggie or plastic wrap. When you’re ready to cook it, take it out of the freezer the a couple night or night before & leave it in the fridge to thaw out. It should be ready to go the next day, for homemade pizza in a pinch!

Description
If you are looking for a vegan gluten-free pizza crust I got you! This one is the perfect combination of crispy on the outside, yet soft & tender on the inside! You can make it yours by adding your favourite sauce & toppings!
Ingredients
Vegan Gluten-Free Pizza Crust
- 1 tsp active yeast
- 3/4 cup warm water
- 2 cups + 2 tbsp gluten-free flour (this is my favourite)*
- 1 tbsp butter, melted (or avocado oil or extra-virgin olive oil for dairy-free/vegan)
- 1/2 tsp pink salt
Pizza Sauce
- 2 tbsp butter, melted (or avocado oil or extra-virgin olive oil for dairy-free/vegan)
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2–3 basil leaves, chopped
Toppings
- Mozzarella (use a dairy-free cheese for vegan option)
- Feta (use a dairy-free cheese for vegan option)
- Peppers (red, yellow & orange), diced
- Red onion, diced
- Olives, diced (pitted)
- Tomato, diced
- Drizzle of extra-virgin olive oil over the crust
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl (ideally made for a stand mixer but you can also use your arm power if you don’t have one) add the active yeast with the warm water & mix gently, then set aside for 10 minutes.
- If you have a stand mixer, add the flour, oil or butter & pink salt to the mixing bowl, until a dough forms. You can also use a sturdy spoon & your hands to combine into a dough.**
- Set aside for 20 minutes, covered.
- Pre-heat your oven to 450 F.
- I like to use avocado oil or extra-virgin olive oil on my fingertips to easily spread the dough onto a parchment paper lined baking tray.
- Mix the ingredients for the pizza sauce together & drizzle evenly over the crust.
- Cover with your toppings of choice (the ones I used are listed above).
- Bake the pizza for around 20-25 minutes until the toppings & cheese has browned & the crust is golden.
- Remove from the oven, let cool slightly, slice & enjoy!
Notes
*When measuring your flour out I recommend scooping or pouring it into your measuring spoon or cup. If you dig it out from the bag this can actually alter the amount & add more flour to the cup than required.
**If your dough is too sticky slowly add 1 tbsp of flour at a time, mixing after each addition until a dough forms. You want it to be moist, not wet/sticky but also not too dry & clumpy. If it is too dry add 1 tbsp of oil or melted butter until the desired consistency is achieved.
