Whole-30 Caesar Salad Dressing

This Whole-30 caesar salad dressing is an absolute game changer. It is 100% dairy-free, paleo friendly, creamy, rich in flavour, with the perfect touch of lemon that will have you licking your lips after every bite! Whether or not you are doing the Whole-30 or just looking for a healthier at home salad dressing you are going to love this!

Whole-30 Caesar Salad Dressing

Easy Homemade Whole-30 Caesar Salad Dressing

Both versions of this Whole-30 caesar salad dressing are so incredibly easy to whip up. I can throw them both together in less than 15 minutes tops. But don’t worry I don’t slack on texture & flavour. This dressing is incredibly rich, tangy & creamy & everyone I have made it for has approved & absolutely loved it.

Nut-Free Whole-30 Caesar Salad Dressing Option

One version of this Whole-30 caesar salad dressing is made using avocado oil mayo. I love this brand & this brand. I am very picky about what mayo I use as most contain added ingredients & more inflammatory oils. For that reason I stick to brands that use ingredients I know as well as avocado oil. You could also try making your own homemade Whole-30 approved mayo but for the sake of time & ease I like to use one of the brands I mentioned.

Whole-30 Caesar Salad Dressing

Vegan Whole-30 Caesar Salad Dressing Option

I made one version of this recipe 100% vegan by subbing out the avocado oil mayo for a combination of soaked or boiled cashews & extra-virgin olive oil or avocado oil. You will still get the beautiful creamy texture like you would if you used mayo but without any eggs involved, making this the perfect option for my vegan or egg-free friends out there!

How to store this Whole-30 Caesar Salad Dressing

I store this dressing in an air-sealed container in the fridge for up to a week. I love storing it in a mason jar & taking it out 15 minutes before serving & shaking it up well so that all the flavours are evenly distributed.

Ingredients you will need:

Cashew Base Caesar Dressing

  • cashews, soaked overnight or for 15 minutes in just boiled water
  • extra-virgin olive oil or avocado oil
  • garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 lemon, juiced (around 3 tbsp)
  • dijon mustard
  • pink salt
  • black pepper

Avocado Oil Mayo Base Caesar Dressing

  • avocado oil mayo (I like this one)
  • garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 lemon, juiced (around 3 tbsp)
  • dijon mustard
  • pink salt
  • black pepper

Salad

  • 1 bunch of freshly washed romaine
  • nutritional yeast or parmesan (if not Whole-30 or dairy-free) to serve
  • bacon or coconut bacon (optional), diced
  • croutons or roasted chickpeas (optional)
  • fresh lemon juice
  • pink salt & black pepper

What to do:

Depending on what version you make you are going to need either a medium sized mixing bowl (mayo version) or a blender (cashew version). From there you are either going to simply blend or mix the ingredients together until well incorporated & serve over your freshly prepared crisp salad. If you are not strictly Whole-30 or dairy-free you can feel free to add some fresh parm over top & if you are following Whole-30 or a dairy-free diet you can use nutritional yeast if desired or simply enjoy as it, it is excellent just on its own as well!
