Paleo Maple Pecan Donuts Made Dairy-Free
The base of these paleo maple pecan donuts is naturally dairy-free plus the glaze is made with only a few ingredients & can easily be made dairy-free as long as you use dairy-free milk. My favourite dairy-free milk to use in baking recipes is unsweetened cashew. If dairy isn’t an issue for you, feel free to use any milk or cream of choice!
Ingredients you will need for these paleo maple pecan donuts
Maple Pecan Donuts
- coconut oil, melted & cooled
- pure pumpkin puree
- maple syrup
- coconut sugar, golden Lakanto or brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- cinnamon
- vanilla extract
- pink salt
- baking soda
- superfine almond flour
- coconut flour
Maple Glaze
- maple syrup
- milk of choice
- powdered sugar (use powdered Lakanto for a low-carb option)
- pecan pieces

Can I make these low-carb?
Yes! I leave recommendations for this in the recipe below but it is simply swapping out the coconut & powdered sugar for Lakanto or your preferred low-carb baking sugar! I like the powdered version of Lakanto for a powdered sugar sub & the golden Lakanto for a lower-carb sub for the coconut sugar.
You can also sub the maple syrup out for your preferred low-carb syrup but there is only 5 tbsp of maple syrup in the whole recipe, including the glaze & really gives these donuts that maple flavour!

What if I don’t have a donut pan?
First, I highly recommend this donut pan over the metal ones. I find it so much easier to get the donuts out of, plus it is a lot easier to clean in my opinion. I place it on a baking tray because it is quite flimsy as it is made of silicon so this helps stabilize the tray when taking it in & out of the oven.
If you don’t have a donut baking pan you can also easily make these into muffins. Simply line a muffin tray with liners & follow the directions as detailed below. Keep an eye on them during baking as baking times may slightly vary if you make the muffin version.
How do I store these paleo maple pecan donuts?
I like to store them in an air-sealed container on the counter! You can also store them in the fridge, however I do find this dries them out a bit more when I do this.

Ingredients
Maple Pecan Donuts
- 1/3 cup coconut oil, melted & cooled
- 1/3 cup pure pumpkin puree
- 3 tbsp maple syrup
- 1/3 cup coconut sugar, golden Lakanto or brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp cinnamon

- 3 tbsp coconut flour
Maple Glaze
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
- 2–4 tsp milk of choice
- 1 cup powdered sugar (use powdered Lakanto for a low-carb option)
- 1/4 cup pecan pieces
Instructions
Maple Pecan Donuts
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees C.
- Grease a doughnut mold with ghee, coconut oil, or avocado oil (line a muffin pan if using). Set aside.
- Add the wet ingredients to a large bowl, followed by the dry ingredients.
- Let the dough sit for 5 minutes to absorb the excess liquid.
- Scoop the mixture into the donut mold (or muffin liner), filling 3/4 of the way.
- Bake for about 15-18 mins.
- Let cool before removing from the donut pan, then glaze.
Maple Glaze
- Mix all of the ingredients together in a small bowl until no clumps remain. For a thinner glaze use 4 tsp milk, for a thicker glaze use 2 tsp milk.
- Dip the cooled donuts into the glaze & top with a few pecan pieces. Enjoy!
